West Ham are pushing to add Czech Republic international Alex Kral on loan before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

The Spartak Moscow midfielder has long been a target for David Moyes and would add to an already strong Czech contingent in east London, with Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal key members of the West Ham squad.

Talks are ongoing over a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Kral's agent is understood to be in London to help move the deal along quickly, but the player himself is with the Czech Republic squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Belarus on Thursday and manager Jaroslav Silhavy is thought to be reluctant to let the midfielder leave due to a lack of options.

That presents an issue for West Ham for a deal which, given the window closes at 11pm BST on Tuesday night, is already tricky to complete.

Writing in the Sunday Times ahead of Euro 2020, Moyes said of Kral: "He is good on the ball and looks to protect his defence and appears to have, like Tomas and Vladimir Coufal, great mentality and bags of energy."

West Ham, who are unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season, have already signed Alphonse Areola, Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic this summer.
