Alan Pardew has said Crystal Palace want to sign two strikers as they look to bolster their attacking ranks.

Palace have identified Christian Benteke and Saido Berahino as their main transfer targets, but Pardew says the club also have other options.

Pardew is desperate for reinforcements with Connor Wickham his only fit senior forward. Liverpool value Benteke, 25, at £30million.

Berahino, 22, can leave West Brom if they complete a move for Diafra Sakho from West Ham.

Pardew said: “We have been linked with a number of players but we have four or five strikers that we could bring to this club.”

Palace winger Yannick Bolasie said in late July he does not think Berahino would be a disruptive influence at Palace despite his reputation as a troublemaker.

"I think he is a top lad. Everyone gets him a bit wrong but he is a top guy.”

Bolasie also backed Benteke as a potential Palace target, adding: “Obviously Benteke has Congolese origin, same as me.

“It is good to see fresh faces come through the door.

"Especially with what we are seeing in the Premier League so far, with the managers that have come in and players coming in from all over the world.”
