Fletcher's United title fear

13 April 2012

Darren Fletcher has warned that Manchester United are already in danger of falling too far behind Arsenal and Chelsea in the Barclays Premiership.

United have only managed five points from their opening four games while their two main title rivals have both achieved maximum points.

Fletcher told www.manutd.com: "We can't drop more points if they keep winning. We experienced it last year - drawing and losing too often.

"We have got to keep picking up points but if we top the league at the end of the season, that is all that matters."

However, the Scottish midfielder believes that now United's injury crisis is coming to and end they can turn the corner.

He added: "Players are slowly but surely coming back from injury. Before, because of all the injuries, the team was picking itself but now the manager has got a few choices to make.

"It's obviously good for him but also for the players because there is more competition for places."
