Fletcher to join Forest in loan deal

13 April 2012

Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher is set to join Championship rivals Nottingham Forest on loan for six weeks.

The 28-year-old was signed by Peter Taylor from West Ham for £400,000 in 2006 but has struggled to win a place in the team since Neil Warnock took over last year.

Fletcher was transfer listed earlier this season and will make his Forest debut against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow if the deal is done in time.

Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi could be out until the new year after undergoing surgery on a foot injury. "We've lost him for two or three months," said manager Alan Pardew. Charlton have allowed midfielder Josh Wright to stay on loan at Brentford for another month.
