Eduardo sets his sights on Arsenal return before the end of the year

striker Eduardo is targeting a first-team return before Christmas.

It was feared the Croatia international could be out for more than a year after suffering a double compound fracture of the left leg in a tackle from Birmingham's Martin Taylor in February.

Eduardo is back in London after recovering at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro since April but the Brazil-born 25-year-old is unlikely to resume full training before the end of September.

He said: 'Doctors tell me by then I will be fully recovered and able to play football again. I hope so too. 

'I'm feeling well and my rehabilitation is going better than I would ever have hoped.'
