Desailly: Chelsea can win the title

13 April 2012

Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly insisted today that his side can still win the title as they moved to within eight points of leaders Manchester United with a 2-0 win over Leeds.

The Stamford Bridge club, who play bottom side Leicester on Saturday, have been inconsistent in the League this season, but French World Cup winner Desailly said: "We still believe that we can win the championship because no team is consistent this season.

"It's not like last season when Manchester United broke the championship as they took points off everybody. Every team is capable of losing two games in a row and this is why we can still believe.

"All the Chelsea players still have it in their minds that they can win the Premiership title. That is why beating Leeds was so important to us."
