Curbishley backs Rufus call

13 April 2012

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley believes Richard Rufus should be considered for an England call-up.

He feels new national team coach Sven-Goran Eriksson should take a look at the defender.

Curbishley said: "Richard has been excellent for us this season and his performances have certainly warranted a look at."

Graham Stuart is available for tomorrow's game at Southampton after serving a suspension. But leading scorer Jonatan Johansson has been ruled out for a month with a knee injury after a freak training ground accident last week.

Johansson joins fellow strikers Andy Hunt (virus), Clive Mendonca (hip) and midfielder Mark Kinsella (knee) on the long-term injury list.
