Targeting Kevin Pietersen could be costly for Aussies, warns Brett Lee

Indifferent form: Kevin Pietersen has struggled but Brett Lee says he is still a danger
10 April 2012

Brett Lee has urged Australia not to sledge struggling England batsman Kevin Pietersen during the Ashes series this winter.

Pietersen has not hit a Test century since March 2009 and went to South Africa this month to try to regain his form but made only 36 during his two innings in a two-match stint with KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins.

But former Test fast bowler Lee thinks winding up Pietersen could backfire. The Aussie said: "There are guys you can get stuck into and others you leave alone. Kevin has controlled aggression and he likes it when someone has a chat to him. He takes it personally. It fires him up and he'll want to score a big hundred."
