Jonny Bairstow has been left out of England’s Test squad for the series against New Zealand.
The England National Cricket Selectors announced their 15-man squad on Monday for the two-match series against the Black Caps, which starts on November 21.
Warickshire’s Dominic Sibley – who scored 1,324 runs this summer in the County Championships – has been handed his first England call-up.
Kent’s Zak Crawley is also included after a promising summer at the top of the order.
Jimmy Anderson remains unavailable as he recovers from the calf injury that ruled him out of the recent Ashes series.
A 15-man selection for the forthcoming IT20 series, again in New Zealand, was also confirmed with Bairstow set to feature in the shorter format.
First call-ups were handed to Tom Banton and Saqib Mahmood, along with Worcestershire seamer Pat Brown and Lancashire spinner Matthew Parkinson.
