Jayawardene fears Australia’s soldiers have Sri Lanka skipper

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene fears his team could face a backlash from hosts Australia in this month’s three-Test series.

Australia’s hopes of snatching South Africa’s top Test ranking ended in a crushing 309-run defeat in the Third Test in Perth on Monday, sealing a 1-0 series loss.

“I see them as wounded soldiers — they could come back stronger against us,” said Jayawardene.
