Cardiff insist they have not received any approach from Fulham for manager Dave Jones.

The Bluebirds boss is rumoured to be one of the frontrunners for the vacant position at Craven Cottage following Roy Hodgson's switch to Liverpool.

But a statement from Cardiff read: "Neither the club or the manager have received an approach from Fulham Football Club regarding the vacant manager's job at Craven Cottage. As ever, he is 100% concentrating on preparing the team for the new season."

Meanwhile, Cardiff chief executive Gethin Jenkins insists the npower Championship club are keen to resolve the issue surrounding outstanding finances owed to Motherwell as quickly as they can.

The Clydesdale Bank Premier League outfit on Thursday demanded City settle a "substantial" overdue instalment of the transfer fee due for defender Paul Quinn.

The 24-year-old made the move to Wales last summer for a fee reportedly in the region of £300,000 but they claim an instalment due in January has still not been received.

Jenkins said: "We are fully aware of the debt owed to Motherwell and we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
