Briatore: Ralf's not joining Renault

Renault head Flavio Briatore today poured cold water on claims from Ralf Schumacher's camp that the German driver is on the verge of joining his team.

Schumacher's manager Willi Weber claimed he had all but signed a deal with Renault for next season after his Williams contract expires.

But Briatore denied any talks over Schumacher, who is expected to leave Williams after the team baulked at his pay demands.

He said: "At no time have Willi and I discussed a possible future for Ralf in a Renault car."
