Blackpool claim play-off final spot

12 April 2012

Blackpool's march towards the Coca-Cola Championship gathered momentum at Bloomfield Road where Oldham were clinically despatched 3-1 in the second leg of their play-off semi-final and 5-2 on aggregate.

Blackpool midfielder Keith Southern unleashed an unstoppable 25-yard shot into the far corner in the 28th minute to give Blackpool a 3-1 aggregate lead.

Andrew Morrell then beat Oldham goalkeeper Alan Blayney in a one-on-one in the second half to put the tie beyond the visitors, before Oldham substitute Matt Wolfenden fired in off the crossbar in the closing stages to make it 4-2 on aggregate and Keigan Parker had the last word by curling home with virtually the last kick of the game.

Simon Grayson's side will fancy their chances against Yeovil at Wembley after proving the classier side in both legs.
