Beckham is on target for Real

David Beckham scored with a dipping 25-yard shot to put Real Madrid on the way to a 2-1 win over Albacete at the Bernabeu.

The England captain struck after 38 minutes but it needed a late goal from Zinedine Zidane to secure the victory that took the Spanish champions level on points with Deportivo La Coruna at the top of the Primera Liga.

Beckham said: "It's nice to get a goal like this. They got back on level terms quickly, which was a bit of a disappointment, but the most important thing was the three points because with players on international duty it's tiring with all the travelling involved."
