Beckham and Terry lift

David Beckham: no injury problem

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is confident he will have a fully-fit team to face France on Sunday.

There were fears that David Beckham and John Terry were struggling but Football Association spokesman Adrian Bevington said: "David's fitness is not an issue.

"It was decided in advance of Saturday's game against Iceland that David would go off at half-time for an anti-inflammatory injection into a small cyst in his back. He is due to resume training tomorrow."

Beckham has also been bothered by a sore ankle but claims the injury remains only a minor problem.

Terry, meanwhile, missed the Iceland match with a hamstring strain but dismissed speculation that he is a serious doubt for the opening game. He said today: "I'm hoping that I can resume training tomorrow and that everything will be okay by Sunday."

Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard, meanwhile, looks certain to be included in Eriksson's team to meet France after capping a fine performance in the 6-1 win over Iceland with a goal.
