Barnett set for Broncos debut

London Broncos hit the Silk Cut Challenge Cup trail again on Sunday when they head for Hull and a fifth-round match full of confrontations.

Coach Tony Rea said: "We're ready for the game and I feel that it has come at a good time for us. It's a big challenge and gives us a chance to see how our new boys are settling in. Everyone is excited about it."

Broncos, who beat Batley at home in the fourth round, have an extra man for the trip, following New Zealand skipper and new signing Richie Barnett's arrival following his wedding.

The last time the two teams met in the Cup was 19 years ago when Hull won a second-round clash against Fulham 11-5 and went on to win the final in a replay against Widnes.

Hull chief executive Shane Richardson believed this latest clash should have been televised.

"In Rugby League we are trying to promote London and now they have a fantastic team," he said.

"This game will be an absolute gem and it would have been a great opportunity to expose London to a national audience."

The clash between former Parramatta team-mates Jim Dymock and Hull's Jason Smith could hold the key. Another is the contest between Broncos' Aussie skipper Jason Hetherington and Hull's new signing Lee Jackson.

London face a tricky tie but their quality signings and new strength in depth should see them through.

LONDON BRONCOS: Fleming; Golden, Roy, Martin, Warton; Gillett, Moran; Dooley, Hetherington (capt), Cram, Millard, Retchless, Dymock. Subs (four from): Barnett, Mestrov, Air, Toshack, Clarke.
