The girlfriend of The Who bassist John Entwistle has been found dead.

Lisa Pritchett-Johnson, who lived with the rocker at his Cotswolds mansion until he died following a cocaine-fuelled romp in 2002, was discovered at a house in Memphis, Tennessee.

Officials are awaiting the results of a post-mortem test but friends said the 43-year-old American never got over the guitarist's death and died of a broken heart.

Aman at the house where her body was found was arrested on an unrelated matter.

Ms Pritchett-Johnson was Entwistle's partner for 13 years. She described him as her soulmate and they planned to marry. The self-styled 'rock chick' was a flamboyant figure, often seen driving her opentop BMW in the Cotswolds, but she recently returned home to the US.

'She and John certainly knew how to live life,' said Craig Addecott who started tribute band Who's Next?.

'Once I was invited over but said I could only have one drink. When I turned up there was a can of lager in a Champagne bucket. She said "If you're only having one, have it in style baby."'
