Teenage sports star Tom Daley is to make a splash as a new wax figure at Madame Tussauds.

The Olympic diving sensation has already been measured up and modellers will create a figure to be unveiled next year.

Daley - who will be depicted mid-dive, according to Tussauds - at 17 is one of the youngest figures to be immortalised.

His model will feature in a new set recreating the Olympic Aquatic Centre diving pool.

Daley has fitted sittings in between training sessions and his A-level studies and his model will be unveiled in a revamped interactive sports zone in February.

He will be close to fellow Team GB hopeful Jessica Ennis, plus sporting greats such as Muhammad Ali and David Beckham.

Liz Edwards, of Tussauds, said: "Tom's figure is going to make a really exciting addition to the attraction next year and the pose and set will be truly stunning."
