When Pamela Anderson throws a party, it is a tough question knowing how to dress. Do the ladies try to beat Pammy at her own game by showing off their finest attributes to best advantage? Or copy the former Baywatch star at a party earlier this week, when she spent the evening wearing a mac and dark glasses. Cover it up or show it off ?

At a party at the newly refurbished Home House for the relaunch of MAC make-up's charity fundraising Viva Glam lipstick, the answer became clear: flesh is best.

Anderson - the new charity spokeswoman for MAC - led the way with a gold dress that exposed so much of her front that one began to wonder whether she might have been on a retainer from her plastic surgeon. Camilla Fayed, daughter of Harrods owner Mohamed, showed off her legs with the shortest dress she could find in her wardrobe.

But it was Margo Stilley - the American actress who did it all for the camera in Michael Winterbottom's film Nine Songs - who attracted most attention in a dress that was not so much backless as all but bottomless.

On male employees of the construction industry, such a style usually prompts references to builder's bum: being a lady, perhaps Ms Stilley has a better name for it.
