Ola and James Jordan have been axed from the Strictly Come Dancing tour - by email.

The professional dancers - who have appeared on the live shows every previous year - are furious after receiving the informal notification telling them they would "not be needed".

James - who partnered Alex Jones during this year's series - tweeted: "Myself and Ola will definitely NOT be doing the 'Strictly' tour. Just received an E-MAIL to say we are not needed."

Show insiders claim the couple were axed because bosses have become tired of James' outspoken behaviour and criticisms of the judging panel after he clashed with head judge Len Goodman on screen on a number of occasions.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "His behaviour has got worse and worse. Bosses thought he needed a reality check."

Ola was partnered with former footballer Robbie Savage this year, who also took to his Twitter page to comment on the news.

He wrote: "Ola was the best partner ever but... no one is bigger than the show!"

A show spokesperson insisted there was nothing untoward about their dismissal.

They said: "It's not possible to take everyone."
