Sam Aston arrived on the set of Coronation Street nursing a broken wrist after injuring himself on a bouncy castle at a friend's party.

He was taken to hospital over the weekend after taking a tumble while horsing around on the inflatable.

Injured: Coronation Street star Sam Aston kept his plaster cast hidden as he arrived on set yesterday

The 15-year-old actor, who plays Chesney Battersby-Brown in the soap, kept his plaster cast under wraps at work yesterday, covering it over with his zip-up jacket.

He told concerned fans outside Manchester studio: 'I fell over at the weekend but I'm fine.

'It was just an accident. Unfortunately I won't be able to sign autographs for the moment.'

Coronation Street producers said they would 'work around' his injury.
