Robert Pattinson has opened up about Kristen Stewart reportedly cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders.

Speaking to Esquire magazine, Robert said: "S**t happens, you know? It's just young people...it's normal! And honestly, who gives a s**t?"

The actor also went on to explain how he felt protective of his ex-girlfriend when the allegations came to light.

Robert and his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart began dating when they met on set in 2008, but the relationship fell apart after allegations of Kristen cheating with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders came to light in 2012.
