And so, at the stroke of midnight, Pixie Geldof turned 18. Passport in hand, she took her first tentative steps into a nightclub as a legal drinker. Did it feel any different? Probably not. She's a veteran clubber and has been hanging around at parties and bars for years.

Finally legal: Pixie arrives at Bungalow 8 with her passport as proof of age

She celebrated her 18th by trekking into Covent Garden and presenting herself to the doormen of Bungalow 8 - the very club that singled itself out as one of the only venues in London to realise that she was underage and not let her in.

As a result, Pixie was leaving nothing to chance this morning, bringing cast-iron proof of age.

She must have taken full advantage of her legality as well, looking rather unsteady on her feet as she left the club at 4am. She managed to make it all the way home before realising she'd left all her stuff at the club.

She had to catch a cab back and collect her things in a large plastic bag before finally making it home. Phew! It's not easy being a grown up, eh?
