It's good news for girls - not only is Brad Pitt single again but so is another Tinseltown heart-throb - Orlando Bloom has split from girlfriend Kate Bosworth after being together for almost three years.

"They did decide to take some time apart due to their upcoming work schedule, and they remain very close," said the couple's representative, Robin Baum. "It was a mutual decision."

Bloom, 28, has starred in the The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Troy.

Bosworth, 22, who starred in Blue Crush, played Sandra Dee in Beyond the Sea, about the 1950s crooner Bobby Darin. She is currently in talks to play Lois Lane in Superman Returns
