Actor Christian Slater has split from his wife Ryan Haddon - reportedly because she didn't want to live full-time in London.

The Hollywood star has been starring in the hit West End show One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and was planning to stay in the capital to further his stage career.

But Haddon, who married the True Romance star in 2000, is said to be unwilling to stay in England and wanted to return with their two children to the US.

A spokesperson for the former hellraiser said: "They are having a trial separation."

Slater, 35, is now in a flat in Westminster's posh Buckingham Gate, according to today's Sun.

"Christian loves England but Ryan never really felt at home. They are both very sad," the newspaper reports a friend as saying.
