Lily Allen returned to the scene of her first performance last night for a secret gig for 300 fans wearing bizarre fancy dress interpretations of Tube stations.

Allen led the way as Queen Victoria. One guest wore a rooster's costume and a Foster's lager sash (Cockfosters), another turned up in a maid's outfit with a bride's veil (Maida Vale); there was also an angel (that would be Angel Tube then).

It also clarifies why the chap with a crown on his head was walking around with a very angry look on his face (King's Cross).

Other outfits includes numerous Wimbledons (tennis whites), Canada Water (a girl wearing the Canadian flag and a skirt made of Volvic bottles) and High Barnet (a very tall man in a Sideshow Bob wig).

As for the gentleman who posed in a prisoner's outfit with handcuffs on and smoking a cigarette, it is thought he could be Amy Winehouse's husband (Brixton).

Allen played the secret gig at the Tabernacle, a converted church in Notting Hill, to an audience of 300 MySpace fans and friends, including Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and her ex-boyfriend Ed Simons of Chemical Brothers.

Grimshaw, who was dressed as a canary (Canary Wharf), won the best costume prize. He is about to move into Allen's spare bedroom, which could lead to a steward's inquiry.

Allen said the gig marked a homecoming — her first appearance on stage was in a pantomime at the Tabernacle when she was five. "I was a frog, or a boy, or something s**t," she told the audience.
