Sienna Miller, in a white beret, and Brooke Shields were among the fans of fashion designer Matthew Williamson who came to the launch of his eponymous fragrance at the Fifth Floor Cafe at Harvey Nichols.

"Between you and me, it's not really my fragrance at all," confessed Williamson.

"A company approaches you when they think your brand is ready. Though, of course, I have complete creative control over the packaging."

Guests getting down to the lilting sounds of the Reggae Philomonic Orchestra included Jude Law's sister, Natasha, and schoolgirl model Lily Cole.

"I just finished my AS levels last week," renowned party girl Cole told me. Did she go out and celebrate? "Well, yes, but let's not go into the details," she said coyly.
