We realise that an intense musical performance can work up an appetite - but this is ridiculous.
Singer Katy Perry was on stage at the Latin American MTV Awards in Mexico when she suddenly (and inexplicably) dived into a massive layer cake. The I Kissed A Girl star was left covered in pink icing as she peeled herself away from the smashed cake and continued her show.

Perhaps it was the slippery icing - or maybe it was the effects of a massive sugar rush - but Katy was soon flat on her face mid-song. Thankfully, her guitarist was on hand to pick her up (and we bet he's getting a fat pay rise as a result).
She started her set dressed as a prom queen with a tiara perched on her head and a ball gown. Fans were then treated to a mini striptease as she provocatively removed the skirt to reveal an outfit that left little to the imagination.
