Harry Potter author JK Rowling gave birth to her second daughter yesterday.

'Both parents are thrilled,' a spokeswoman for her publisher, Bloomsbury, said. 'Mother and baby are doing well.'

The multi-millionaire married Dr Neil Murray in 2001. Their first child, David, will be two in March. She has a daughter, Jessica, from a previous marriage. The sixth Potter book is due out in July.
