Goodbye X Factor, hello Missy Elliott as Misha B 'holds record talks with US star'

Misha B was in high spirits today despite being eliminated from The X Factor, as she revealed she is planning an acting career - amid reports she has a recording contract.

She was voted off last night, leaving Amelia Lily, Little Mix and Marcus Collins to compete in next week's Wembley final.

But the singer, 19, from Manchester, is said to be in talks over a possible collaboration with US hip hop star Missy Elliott.

She said she felt "blessed" to have got as far as the semi-finals and she forgave judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh for accusing her of bullying fellow contestants.

"I believe that you shouldn't get bitter you should just get better," she said, adding that she had "lived and learnt" from "one of the greatest experiences of my life".

The singer, whose full name is Misha Bryan, told TV presenter Lorraine Kelly earlier she would continue to pursue her dream of fame.

"I want success, success in the form of happiness. I find happiness through music - music is my life, it's the way I express myself, it's like my best friend. I like acting as well, so hopefully, maybe in a couple of years I'll get into acting."

Her X Factor mentor, pop star Kelly Rowland, claimed that she will "always be there" for Misha B. "She's so incredibly talented and I'm just so proud of her. It's only a matter of time [before a record company signs her]."

She advised her protégée: "I would perform everywhere, get a great manager and I'm going to be there every step of the way when she needs me." She added: "She has my cell phone number - she can call me any time."
