Out with the old and in with the new has obviously become a major part of Geri Halliwell's life recently.

So much so, that the new mother was keen to discard with any miscellaneous household items during a visit to a London recycling centre, including a rather impressive-looking cello.

And proving she is no longer gripped by an obsession over her weight, Geri happily threw out a set of weighing scales.

Geri says of her new career as a writer: "Creating Ugenia Lavender (series heroine) was like a rebirth.

"I started developing the idea two and half years ago, but it wasn't until I was pregnant that I really got down to writing seriously.

"Since then something has possessed me, and I can't stop. It's like Ugenia Lavender has a life of her own."
