Rogue graffiti artists have kidnapped a fibreglass cow from the international art exhibit CowParade - and threatened to 'sacrifice' it unless the sculptures are declared 'non-art'.

The kidnappers sent a video to a newspaper showing the cow flanked by two masked figures in black holding power drills to its head.

A sign in the background reads: Stockholm's Militant Graffiti Artists. Organisers of the exhibit at Stockholm's Modern Art Museum were given until Monday to comply with the demands.

CowParade spokesman Helena Cederberg said: 'We are very upset about the whole incident. We are waiting for information from the police.' CowParade is an exhibition of around 68 life-size fibreglass cows painted by artists.

It has also been shown in London, Manchester, Prague and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
