What Gemma Collins said to Jeremy Corbyn in 'magical moment'... and how GC wants more of politics

Gemma Collins could be embarking on a beautiful friendship with Jeremy Corbyn – and a new career in politics.

The TOWIE star was left gobsmacked after bumping into the Labour leader at the Pride of Britain Awards this week.

Collins, 37, compared the encounter to a scene from When Harry Met Sally and revealed she wants to help spread his manifesto by making it “easier to understand”.

“I want to go to lunch with him,” she told the Mirror. “I’m not finished with Corbyn – he’s inspired me. He’s always saying let’s build a fairer Britain... let’s make a change.”

She continued: “Do you know why I love Jeremy? He wants to end hospital car parking charges.

“I’m not being funny, but someone’s died - a member of your family - and you’ve gotta put three quid in the meter?”

Collins said meeting the politician was a “magical moment” and that she had subconsciously worn red for the surprise meeting.

“He said it was a pleasure to meet me, and that he liked my dress – he obviously loved it that I was wearing red,” she said.

“It was like When Harry Met Sally.”

The 1989 rom com followed Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal who remain friends for years before deciding to take their friendship to the next level.

Collins struggled to pick up her jaw from the floor after she bumped into Mr Corbyn on Tuesday night, declaring the moment worthy of going “down in history”.

“You just caught that live on TV,” she told ODE Entertainment. “What a moment! That should go down in history.”

Asked if she is a massive fan of Mr Corbyn, she replied: “Well, I know of him. I wouldn’t say I’m a fan but I might talk to him a bit later.”
