Victoria Beckham and former Spice Girls band mate Mel B are said to be at loggerheads over plans for the band’s rumoured reunion.

While the fashion designer was reportedly always keen to celebrate the pop group’s 20th anniversary, she apparently never agreed to reform for a tour – which Mel B has been very vocal about in recent weeks.

Last week Mel called out one “difficult” member of the group who wasn’t paying ball, and now Beckham is said to be unhappy about being pegged as the one who put the spanner in the works.

“Victoria was always up for a catch-up and the prospect of a celebration of the band’s work. But going out on the road for concerts was never something she agreed to,” a source told The Sun.

“Now she’s hit back at Mel and the pair on the verge of a major bust-up over the issue.”

The insider added: “Every time Mel makes promises to the fans it leaves Victoria looking like a killjoy who is stopping it from happening and that just isn’t fair. Live shows were very much something Mel and Geri wanted to push for, but Mel keeps saying it in public.”

Speaking on Loose Women last week, Mel said that the band were reuniting “for sure” but that one person was holding them up.

“Yeah we are – we are getting back together. We are for sure. We are getting back together. In fact I’m seeing Geri a little bit later on today,” she said.

“We’re sisters at the end of the day so what we went through was quite an amazing brilliant journey,” she said. “So we’re together.

“There’s one that’s being a bit difficult…but I’m hoping she’s going to get roped in.”

Rumours of a reunion were confirmed in February after the five-piece gathered together at Horner’s house, marking the first time they had all been in a room together since performing at the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Talk of tours and new music have been bandied about with Mel B appearing to confirm the rumours, telling the Loose Women panel earlier this year that they have all agreed to hit the road.
