Wes Nelson joked that he has revealed the real Megan Barton Hanson after secretly filming her chilling at home.

The Love Island finalists enjoyed a cosy night in after a whirlwind week – and Nelson couldn’t resist mocking his girlfriend who referred to herself as a “slobby mess”.

Comparing her to Melissa McCarthy’s character in Tammy, Nelson said: “If you’re ever wondering what Meg’s like off camera, this is it.”

The former glamour model found it funny – but later tired of Nelson’s humour after he continued to interrupt their “Netflix and chill” night.

“Wes you’re p****** me off now come on. Let me live,” she said as she sat in shorts and a T-shirt in front of the TV. “Wes come on this is Netflix and chill not let’s all dig Megan.”

Nelson replied: “There’s the Netflix, but where’s the chill baby?”

Showing off her relaxed attire she joked: “Here – look at this slobby mess.”

“We’re making a TV show so things are portrayed in a certain way,” she said. “It’s dramatised. In the outside world I would have loved to go up to Laura first and be like, ‘I fancy Wes, I feel like there’s some chemistry there,’ but you see 45 minutes of it. I saw they were rowing.”

Nelson added: “Five days, pretty much, straight of arguing, which you didn't see.”

Barton Hanson continued: “If they were the perfect couple, I’m not a confident enough person I would roll up to Wes and say, 'oh hi, I fancy you,' if they were the perfect couple.

“There were cracks in it and we just gravitated towards each other.”

Nelson said he isn’t angry with Love Island bosses for the way the start of their relationship was edited, saying “it is what it is”.
