Skream shocks shoppers as he plays surprise DJ set on rickshaw in London
Londoners were treated to a free DJ set by Skream – on the back of a rickshaw.
The electronic music producer – real name Oliver Jones – was spotted playing a set on the back of the passenger vehicle at Oxford Circus on Tuesday afternoon.
The DJ – who was one of dubstep's early stars – informed fans of his escapade on Instagram with a video alongside the caption: “Currently riding around London on a rickshaw!!!!”
He strapped a speaker to the side of the vehicle and held a mixing deck on his lap as he entertained the public with the surprise set.
The DJ was surrounded by shocked shoppers and onlookers who tried to capture the moment as he made his way around Central London.
One fan called the stunt “absolutely outrageous” while another jokingly praised the DJ for “play[ing] in places some man will never ever play in their life (sic).”
Others tweeted their disappointment at missing the set with one fan saying they had been left "gutted".
The outing appeared to promote the Eastern Electrics festival which Skream is playing in August.
Held at Hertfordshire's Hatfield House, the event will also play host to Groove Armada, Shy FX, Seth Troxler and Steve Lawler among others.
