Star Wars 7: Simon Pegg accidentally reveals Daniel Craig will play a Stormtrooper

Simon Pegg has accidentally revealed that Daniel Craig will play a Stormtrooper in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

Craig's cameo in the blockbuster was a well kept secret up until Pegg leaked the role.

Speaking to The Sun at the premiere of his new film Man Up in London, Pegg said: "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper."

Quickly realising his mistake, Pegg said: "I shouldn't have said that."

Craig's cameo was revealed last year - but he was keen to keep his face masked in the eagerly anticipated film.

An insider said: ''Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters.

''Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.''

The 47-year-old actor has recently returned to filming Spectre after a knee injury forced him to fly to Manhattan for emergency surgery.
