David Beckham was dubbed Goldenballs by wife Victoria, but Silverballs might be more apt thanks to these new statues.

Six 10ft sculptures of the footballer, 37, have been created in the US to celebrate the launch of his new range of underwear for H & M.

Erected in several cities including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, they have proved a big hit with female fans — as well as attracting the odd male admirer, including one passer-by who was only wearing briefs himself.

A black and white photoshoot of Beckham wearing the rest of the range has been released.
