Robin Williams helped teenage actor to secure a prom date in comedy sketch with Ben Stiller
Robin Williams helped his teenage co-star Skyler Gisondo to secure a date for prom while filming Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb last spring.
Gisondo, 17, was unable to ask a girl named Hilary in person due to work commitments so Williams and Ben Stiller filmed a three minute comedy sketch to help him secure a date.
In the video the late actor says to the camera: “'Yo, Hillary, will you go to the prom with my man here, my man Sky-lar?”
After Stiller – who plays Gisondo’s father in the film – tells the camera that the girl in question is a “nice Jewish girl” Williams says the young actor is a “nice Jewish boy” and confirms that he is also a “great kisser”.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Gisondo recalled the experience and said: "I realised that was the most awesome three minutes of my life and I've accepted it will go downhill from there.”
On working with the late actor he said: “Robin was this bottomless reservoir of kindness and hilarity. It was just so special to work so closely with this guy who's movies I've grown up with, and watch his preparedness and his kindness."
