Margot Robbie has finally put to bed the speculation over whether or not she has secretly married her long-time partner, Tom Ackerley.

The Suicide Squad actress, 26, posted a cheeky Instagram to confirm she tied the knot with Ackerley in Australia over the weekend.

Robbie posted a picture of herself kissing the British director while showing off her new wedding ring.

Robbie wore a cream, lace off-the-shoulder wedding dress for the private ceremony near her hometown of Dalby on the Gold Coast.

According to News.com.au, the nuptials were a closely guarded secret and guests were kept in the dark about the location and told to hand in their mobile phones and cameras on arrival.

Some 50 guests reportedly watched the couple exchange their vows under a large white teepee-style tent before dancing into the night at a luxurious property in Coorabell, in Byron Bay's hinterland.

According to Northern Star, the wedding menu consisted of pizza and a BBQ, with Coco Pops, which is believed to be Robbie’s favourite cereal, for dessert.

The news comes days after it was reported that Ackerley wanted to get married in his native UK, but tied the knot in Australia as he knew how much it meant to Robbie.

“The Gold Coast was somewhere she always wanted to get married, given it's where she was raised as a kid, on her grandparents' farm,” a source told Australian magazine Women’s Day.

“Tom initially wanted to get married in the UK, but he knows how much it means to Margot to tie the knot on home soil and how special it is for her, so he didn't put up much of a fight.

"They decided to marry around Christmas so they could spend time with both their families afterwards, which they've never done before.”

Robbie sparked wedding rumours when she arrived at Gold Coast airport in a suggestive Say 'I Do' Down Under T-shirt last week.

Robbie and Ackerley met on the set of Suite Française back in 2014. They lived together with flatmates in London until last month.
