Macaulay Culkin is such a fan of his own name he’s made it his middle name, telling fans he will now be known as Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

The US star, famed for his role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, posted a poll asking fans to vote on a list of potential middle names after deciding his is “dumb”.

“My middle name is something dumb. Larry? Orange? Honestly, I can’t even remember it,” he wrote on his website Bunny Ears.

“So I asked you all to send in some better options so I can go down to the courthouse and explain to a judge why I need to change my middle name to something cool.”

His top five were Macaulay Culkin, Shark Week, Kieran, TheMcRibIsBack and Publicity Stunt, with Culkin giving fans until Christmas Eve to vote on their favourite.

Some 60,000 fans voted for “Macaulay Culkin,” with the actor announcing the news on Christmas Day.

He tweeted: “Merry Christmas to me, from all of you!

“My new middle name has been chosen. You voted and the winner is clear. In 2019 my new legal name will be: Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. It has a nice ring to it (if you like my name). #MerryChristmas.”

Culkin’s real middle name is Carson, after Kit Carson, who was an American frontiersman.

The former child star was recently hailed as the ‘saviour of 2018’ after he reprised his role as McCallister for a Home Alone Google ad.

Culkin recreated famous scenes from the hit festive flick including telling the pizza delivery guy to “keep the change you filthy animal” and setting traps for hapless crime duo Harry and Marv.
