Liam Payne has flown out to Miami to shoot a music video, hours after putting on a united front with Cheryl at the Brit Awards.

The couple, who have 11-month-old son Bear together, worked the red carpet at Wednesday night’s event amid reports that they are on the verge of splitting.

The pair are reportedly struggling to make their relationship work due to Payne’s travelling, with the singer spending most of the past six months on the road to promote his new music.

On Thursday, Payne flew to the US, telling fans: “Just landed here in Miami and we have Michael Jackson on the radio which is always nice.

“Sunny outside, got a cardigan on which always makes perfect sense. Music video time.”

The Instagram video comes hours after Cheryl hit back at reports claiming their appearance at the Brits was a “stunt” and that they had “barely spoke” backstage.

Blasting the claims, Cheryl tweeted: “Oh stop no one cares who’s been speculatively arguing or not in their relationships. Use your platform to put something productive in your columns. I opened a centre this week that could help thousands of youth!!!!....

“..Oh and your ‘stunt’ theories are just ludicrous and a bit weird.”

The celebrity couple, who have dated for nearly two years, shocked viewers at the Brits with a saucy quip about their love life.

Speaking to Payne, host Jack Whitehall said: “You’re performing later, you’re doing a performance from the Fifty Shades movie, it sounds pretty saucy – is there a safe word?"

Payne pointed at Cheryl and joked: “She knows that.”

Cheryl then leaned into the microphone and said that the safe word is “don't stop”.
