Liam Payne calls Cheryl his ‘wife’ in new US interview

Liam Payne may have let slip that he has secretly tied the knot with Cheryl.

Payne, 23, was being interviewed ahead of the release of his debut solo single, when he referred to Cheryl as his “wife”.

The former One Direction singer – who recently welcomed his first child, son Bear, with Cheryl – was talking to SiriusXM about his love for In-N-Out burger when he dropped the comment.

Asked if the fast food chain was the reason behind his move across the pond to Los Angeles, he replied: “Yeah, exactly! I left my wife and child at home and I was straight out to In-N-Out burger. I’m just kidding.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Payne for comment.

Payne made the apparent slip-up as he discussed stripping off for album shots.

When asked what he missed while he diets, he replied: “Everything. But we did do this shoot… it was for the album. So for the shots, straight after, I’d done all the topless bits, I missed all the dinner and whatever else because you can’t eat because it bloats you out and whatever.

“Afterwards I was like In-N-Out burger straight away boom. I had two double doubles. I had two of the fries. I had everything.”

Payne is gearing up for the release of his debut solo single Strip That Down which will drop on Friday.

He gave fans a sneak peek at the track and accompanying music video on Twitter where he was seen dancing topless.
