Kristen Stewart has insisted that she wasn’t ‘kicked off’ of the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel.

The actress, who famously had a short-lived affair with director Rupert Sanders during filming in 2012, claims that she chose not to return for follow-up The Huntsman: Winter’s War.

Speaking to Variety, she said: “It wasn’t a situation where I got kicked off a movie because I got in trouble.

“We had been in talks months after that about making something work, and it never came together.”

In the candid interview, Stewart claims that the film’s scripts were ‘not good’, prompting her to leave the project entirely.

“I read a few scripts. None of them were good. None of them were greenlight-able,” she said.

“And I had a meeting with Universal about the places where the story could go. Maybe Chris was more into it. I actually don’t f****** know.”

British director Sanders, who was married to model Liberty Ross while shooting the first film, was replaced by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan for the sequel.

While the original film grossed an impressive £396.6 million worldwide, the follow-up, starring Hemsworth, Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain, has received mixed reviews and made just $146.3 million.

Stewart is currently in Cannes where she will be attending the gala opening of her new film Café Society, directed by Woody Allen.
