Justin Bieber has sparked concern among his fans after pulling out of his Thanksgiving appearances at the last minute.

Bieber, 21, was due to perform on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and was set to take part in the Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS, which was due to be filmed on Tuesday.

But the Sorry singer has tweeted his apologies after announcing he will no longer take part in the events.

He posted: “My apologies to @colbertlateshow as I won't be able to make it to nyc tomorrow for the show. I look forward to making it up to you soon.”

US gossip site TMZ reported that the cancellations were due to “personal issues” following the “virtual rollercoaster” he has been on while promoting his new album, Purpose.

But a source dismissed the reports and told Hollywood Life that the cancellations were down to a “scheduling conflict”.

“It was a scheduling conflict, something came up and he had to stay in LA,” the source said.

The news comes a day after Bieber broke a Billboard Hot 100 record previously held by the Beatles.

The What Do You Mean? singer has 17 songs on the December 5 Hot 100, beating the 14 that the Beatles managed on April 11, 1964.
