The first behind-the-scenes footage of the new James Bond film SPECTRE has been released.

The clip, which is introduced by new Bond Girl Léa Seydoux, shows Daniel Craig grappling with henchmen in the snow.

It was filmed in the breath-taking Austrian ski area of Sölden, and shows the first day of filming for what will be the twenty-fourth James Bond film.

Cameras and cast can be seen battling extreme mountain weather as they try to film a series of fight scenes and car chases across the rolling Tyrolean peaks.

“We have to deliver an amazing sequence and this is going to be one of the major action sequences of the movie,” explains associate producer Gregg Wilson in the clip. “It’s going to be spectacular and Austria seemed to offer everything that we needed to pull it off.”

The behind the scenes footage includes Daniel Craig as 007, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista and director Sam Mendes.

“The thing Sam and I talked about was how we are going to top SKYFALL”, reveals production designer Dennis Gassner.

“We are going to continue the history of the Bond films, making things that are exciting for the audience to look at and what could be more exciting than to be on top of the world.”

The details of the film and cast were revealed by Oscar-winner Mendes at a press conference at Pinewood Studios back in December.

Mendes also revealed several filming locations for the new movie, including London, Rome, Mexico City and the Sölden. Large parts of the film will also be shot at Pinewood, which has been home to the famous franchise since 1962's Dr No.

Craig, who returns for his fourth Bond movie, will be joined by Italian actress Monica Bellucci, while Austrian Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz will play the film's villain.
