Big Brother's decision to put all the housemates except Jayne up for eviction as punishment for her breaking the rules appears to have left them unfazed

Pete and Michael were called to the Diary Room yesterday but neither said this week's mass nomination had caused major tension.

Big Brother bosses' decision to have a mass nomination has been designed to embarrass and punish newcomer Jayne, 36, after she broke the rules by talking about her impressions of the housemates before she joined the show.

But following the cruel twist, Michael told Big Brother: "No-one is feeling like they are attacked.

"The mood is better than I thought it would be. I'm not worried. I've held on to my pride and I've had a good laugh."

About Jayne, he added: "She feels like she's had a lucky escape.

"She's guilty so she said she's gonna make us dinner and tea. So it's good 'cos it means we can sit on our behinds and do nothing all week. But no-one's angry at her."

And Pete said in the Diary Room when his turn came: "I haven't been up yet so now I can have the experience.

"Everyone's been up but me so I was feeling left out. I'm not that scared but a bit excited. No-one seems bothered that much. Cos we're all up they're not worried."

The twist was unveiled as the housemates were gathered in the living room yesterday for what they thought was a normal round of nominations.

Recruitment consultant Jayne was called to the Diary Room to be reprimanded for her rule-breaking, as the rest of the housemates watched the conversation on the plasma screens.

Big Brother told Jayne: "Since entering the house you have broken the Big Brother rules by talking about the outside world on numerous occasions.

"Despite having received an official warning from Big Brother, you have continued to break the rules.

"You have let yourself down, you've let Big Brother down but most importantly you've let your fellow housemates down. As a result of this rule-breaking all your fellow housemates will face the public vote this week. You, however, will be the only housemate who will not face eviction on Friday."

Jayne was shocked and full of remorse, pleading with Big Brother: "Why punish them?"

She left the Diary Room to tell her housemates "I'm so sorry", as Nikki and Michael immediately ran to her hug her.

Nikki consoled Jayne by saying; "I thought they were getting rid of you," as distraught Jayne promised; "I'm so sorry, I'll make you tea all week."

Phone lines have already opened for viewers to evict their least favourite housemate.
