A charity supported by Prince Harry is aiming for a Christmas No1 with a song by Ed Sheeran’s protégé Jamie Lawson.

The track, Footprints In The Snow, is aiming to raise £250,000 to help ex-servicemen and women.

It is being used for Walking With The Wounded’s Christmas campaign, and has also been performed by Lawson at a charity gala attended by Harry at the Mandarin Oriental in London.

A video, released today, also features TV presenter Nick Knowles, rugby star Chris Robshaw, singer Katherine Jenkins and model Roxie Nafousi.

Lawson was the first artist to sign to Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records.

He said: “The work being done by Walking With The Wounded for ex-servicemen and women is inspirational and changes people’s lives.

"It’s an honour to be releasing this single to help change the lives of hundreds of people.”

Walking With The Wounded, which has Prince Harry as its expedition patron, is aiming to treble the number it supports in 2018, following a 97 per cent increase in the past year to more than 1,000.
