Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow are still best Friends as they share a classic joke from the show

Friends stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow proved they are as close as ever after posting a series of photos from their latest reunion.

The actresses, who famously played Monica Geller and Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom, appeared to be enjoying a joke in a snap shared on Cox’s Instagram account, which she captioned: “Saturday night with a friend.”

The pair grinned from ear to ear in another picture posted on Kudrow’s account, with the star choosing to caption the shot with a subtle Friends reference.

Writing “My eyes! My eyes!” alongside her post, she harked back to her character’s memorable outburst in season five episode The One Where Everybody Finds Out, when Phoebe is left horrified after discovering that Monica is in a relationship with Chandler.

The pair's fans were quick to pick up on Kudrow's quote, with some reciting the next part of the scene's script as they wrote: "Ross doesn't know so you have to stop screaming!"

Others were filled with nostalgia, with one fan writing: "Gosh I miss these two so much."

"You guys are awesome!" another said. "Lisa those songs you did on Friends still to this day keep me rolling! Your [sic] so amazing!"

The actresses recently reunited on the Ellen Degeneres Show, with the TV host transforming her set into the series’ iconic Central Perk coffee shop to mark the occasion.

The three stars then posed on the famous orange sofa for Cox’s first ever Instagram post, which she later shared with the caption: “Hello Instagram! I’m here with a little help from my friends.”

The much-loved sitcom ran for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2004 and charted the lives and loves of six friends living in Manhattan. Though fans have been calling for a reunion in recent years, the show’s co-creator Marta Kauffman shut down any hopes of new episodes in an interview last month.

“One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family,” she told Rolling Stone. “It’s not that time anymore. All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone.

“Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is going just fine, people love it. [It] could only disappoint. ‘The One Where Everyone’s Disappointed.’”
