Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley has hit back at a man who body-shamed her for having “big child-bearing hips.”

The 34-year-old, best known for her role as Eva Price on the soap, took to social media to share an incident after she bumped into a stranger on a train.

Tyldesley wrote on Twitter: “When some guy on the train bumps into you then blames my hips?!? What the actual fudge?!

“Nice to see body shaming is on the decrease... “Big Child bearing hips” said the cheeky sod. Yes they are, and I can probably dead lift twice your body weight love. #backoff.”

She went on to add that the man shockingly asked her for a selfie following the remarks.

However, she was quick to shut him down: “Think he’d had a few. No excuse ... he then asked me for a selfie. I told him my hips probably wouldn’t fit on the picture.”

Fans were quick to show their support by hailing her “perfect.”

The news comes after the actress recently made her exit from the show after seven years.

Speaking to Zoe Ball On Sunday, she opened up about her departure: “I just felt that it was time to have that little bit of a break and look at other projects.

“[I want to] do some travelling as well. Just see what happens – bit of an adventure.”
